One Year A level Intensive Courses are available for students who want to retake their A levels in one year period. Our highly successful one year A level intensive course is designed for dedicated and able students who will benefit from the individual support we offer to help them achieve the highest grades, A and A*
Whilst this course can be challenging, our academic staff are well equipped to help you achieve the best grades possible at A levels. In this course, you will cover the whole syllabus of a subject over a one year period rather than two.
We allocate significantly more hours of teaching per subject than most schools, allowing students to complete the syllabus with ease and confidence, with plenty of time in the end for revision.
A level courses usually last two years and are divided into AS (first year) and A2 (second year) level content. For the One Year A level course, classes for the AS and A2 levels are taught in parallel from the start, with the more demanding second year A level work being given more class time.
If you have taken all, or part, of a A level course at another institution, you can continue your studies with us to complete the course. Please speak to the Admissions Officer for more details.
Why should I this course?
If you are not satisfied with your previous results, or you need a specific grade as a minimum requirement to continue your studies, you may want to consider One year A level intensive courses.
Examples include anyone who missed out on their university course of choice by not achieving the right A Level results in the required subject.
Even if you’re looking to move out of education, many employers view good A level results as prerequisites.
Who can do it?
One Year A level Intensive Courses are best suited to students that have already taken all, or part, of the examination but have been disappointed in their grades. If this is the case, you may re-take some A/S units whilst studying for A2 qualifications.
Many students find it helpful to cover both courses simultaneously by enrolling in our One Year A level Intensive course as it enables them to apply AS skills that are fresh in their minds, rather than trying to remember material that they learned a year before. You have the opportunity to study for a One Year A level Intensive subject that is completely new to you; however, this is very difficult unless you are exceptionally dedicated.

What subjects can I choose?
One Year A level Intensive courses are offered in almost every subject.
Common subjects students choose to take include English, Maths, and Science, as well as certain languages or other specialisms, such as Psychology or Law.
How long will it take?
It can take up to 12 months to study and pass your A levels. However, if you have done it before then you might be able confident to take the exam between 6 months and 12 months.

My daughter is doing her A level Chemistry and Biology at London Brookes College.
